Statistics: Russia’s agricultural output rises 2.7% in April
MOSCOW, May 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s agricultural output increased 2.7% on the year to 299.5 billion rubles in April, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Monday.
In January–April, agricultural output rose 2.8% on the year to 900.2 billion rubles.
Meat and poultry output rose 6% to 4.2 million tonnes in January–April, milk production rose 0.8% to 8.9 million tonnes, and egg output rose 3.6% to 13.8 billion units.
As of the end of April, Russia’s cattle livestock fell 2.1% on the year to 19.8 million heads, including 8.4 million of cows, down 1.7%. Pigs’ number rose 8.2% to 22.9 million and the number of sheep and goats fell 0.5% to 26.8 million.
